The Longing of the Roses
Dark roses crawl up a creme fence
Rough vines creeping
Through lattice holes
Yearning for sun
They struggle to find their freedom
Wishing for life
Outside their cruel
Daily confines
The sky shines as the sun sinks down
Spreading colors
Which the roses
May never reach
