Melissa Lola Vazquez

About the Artist: Melissa (Lola) Vazquez is an 17-year old artist, dancer, and rising senior at the Carrollton School in Miami who works in acrylics, charcoal, ink, pastel, and multi-media sculpture. Her pieces reflect the natural surroundings and animal life of Florida, as well as recurring themes of family and religion. In addition to her own artwork, she studies art history and is passionate about art outreach. She is a beloved instructor at Breakthrough Miami where she teaches programs on art techniques and appreciation during the weekends and summer.
